As we drive from the airport towards East Bali, I wait for the familiar sights that tell me that we are getting close. Over the bridges, past the vegetable gardens and through the villages. And my heart smiles.
As we drive into Candidasa village, we pass Loaf Cafe and the local fruit stand. Turning right, we park outside Catra Resort…..I exhale and smile. We walk down the familiar tropical garden path, cool and refreshing. Towards the ocean. Coming closer we are now by the pool. The palm trees, the steps leading down to the beach, the break water sea wall where locals like to fish.
We step through the Bali Secrets Retreat gates. Into our home away from home. The first thing I do is open wide the 2 sets of double glass sliding doors that separate the terrace from the sun room. These doors will stay open whilst we are here. I let out a breath….we are back .
We walk into the open space of the living area. The luxury of leather lounge, the flat screen TV, the large sunbed and calming decor. Heading towards the stunning marble and stone bathroom, l think about the flower petal bath that l will soak in later.
As we walk back through the bedroom, we pass the super comfortable super king size bed with its beautiful linens. Through the sun room and out onto…..The Terrace, now with a private plunge pool. The view is spectacular. 100% uninterrupted
I see Nusa Pendina in the distance. Boats are passing by. I look down to the perfect little beach directly in front of the terrace. And I think about snorkeling in the warm sea water. I am anxious for the private sunrises and sunsets….. The energy of this place is tangible.
I exhale……yes….we are back. Its time to grab a cold drink from the fridge. Sit back and soak it in. I admit that l am bias to villa, this view, this village, these people. Once you have experienced the calm, the peace and the energy here, you will be too.
We are back in our favorite place in Bali. And we are smiling.
